Satan is Strong but God is Stronger!

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: – 1 Peter 5:8

I am not sure if anyone else has noticed, but Satan is working overtime these days. Every time I turn around, someone else is diagnosed with cancer or some other type of horrible disease. Did you know that an estimated 822,300 men and 774,370 women have been diagnosed with cancer in America so far in 2011, according to the American Cancer Society? These numbers exclude basal and squamous cell skin cancers and in situ carcinoma, except urinary bladder cancer.

I look at the people around me. Our church alone has been hit hard with many tragic circumstances:

• We have a 23-year-old woman who is undergoing yet another surgery to remove large tumors.

• We have an elder gentleman with ATN (kidney disease) and has overcome cancer recently.

• We have a man in his 30’s battling for his life from complications with juvenile Diabetes. He has had both legs amputated and some fingers. He is in dire need of a kidney.

• We have a gentleman that has been in and out of the hospital, and they can’t figure out what is truly wrong.

• We have an elder woman who has a list of health problems and recently lost her daughter (I believe it was cancer).

• We have a woman who has serious heart problems, and the doctors say there is nothing more they can do.

• We have another elder man with diabetic problems and terrible knee problems.

I could continue this list with many many other things that have occurred to our church family, but you get the picture. I know from talking to others that their churches have experienced the same attacks. That is exactly what it is too. Satan is moving full force because he knows his time is almost up!

Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. – Revelation 12:12

In Old Testament days, and even New Testament days among some, they often believed disasters and sickness were from sin in a person’s life. However, often times, Christians who are right with God are hit harder than those not walking with Him. Why? It is partly because of Revelation 12:12, Satan’s time is nearing an end. He knows the Bible. He knows the Truth. He knows who will win in the end. His goal is to take out as many people as he can before it happens! In order to spite God, he wants to remove as many soldiers from the battle field as he can!

I know that other reasons for trials include the strengthening of our faith and growth in our spiritual journey. If we didn’t have them, we wouldn’t need God. We wouldn’t grow and become Christ-like. Although nobody likes a storm, they are necessary to see flowers and fruits blossom among us.

I have come to find that many people do not like to discuss Satan. Those that are lost souls either deny his existence or are freaked out at the thought of him. It’s the “if I don’t think about it, it isn’t real,” mentality.  They often don’t take his power and ruthlessness seriously.

What amazes me is how many Christians refuse to talk about him. They don’t want to acknowledge that Satan is very real, even in a Christian’s life! I have even met Christians who suddenly do not believe hell exists. So what was the point of Jesus’ death on the cross if that’s true? I often wonder about their salvation when they say that. There are more verses than I have counted about hell and the reality of it! {Just to name a few: Matthew 13:41-42, Matthew 25:41, Revelation 20:15, Revelation 21:8}

Every time I start moving closer to God, I can expect another missile launched my way. Satan gets angry every time we do something for the Lord. However, that actually makes me smile. I can’t wait until the day that Satan will be bound and tossed away in the fire forever!!!!! It is coming, I promise!

What is glorious in all this sadness? God is victorious! I already know the end to this battle, and it has a happily ever after . . . for born-again Christians!

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. – Revelation 12:10-11

What about you? Are you guaranteed a happily-ever-after ending? You can be!!! Email me if you want me to explain in detail (
