For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16
Today, my heart is somewhat heavy. I am not entirely sure what to think. When I think about witnessing for Christ, I think about sharing the good news. I think about telling people their fate as natural man/woman to hell can be canceled by the blood of Christ. I think about sharing God’s love and joy. Sadly, many Christians don’t seem to agree these days.
I have recently been watching Christians who have been on fire for the Lord turn away from their convictions and beliefs and turning toward the world. They claim they are not but that God is showing them they have believed wrong before. I know without a shadow of a doubt that is not the case. That is called justification – I know; I have been there!
It saddens me to see Christians give up on God, whether consciously or not, and allow the world to permeate their lives. It breaks my heart to see Christians give a damaged testimony for our Perfect and Wonderful Lord! It truly causes turmoil inside me to see a Christian who once stood on the firm foundation of God’s Word now place their feet into worldly candor!
Last night, nevertheless, the Lord encouraged me. After a wonderful service on biblically mindedness, we stopped at Kroger to try to get a few things for our bare cupboards. As we checked out at the U-Scan, the cashier overseeing them asked if we had coupons. I laughed and said that we wished we did. Then I told her that I did have something for her, and I handed her a tract. It turned out she was a born-again Christian.
She was a wonderful encouragement. A true light shined as she spoke of the Lord and how she looked at holding a good, cheerful spirit as a ministry for Christ. She explained how just her perkiness draws people’s attention and she is able to explain that her joy is completely from her relationship with Christ. It truly charged me up! I thank the Lord for those few minutes I was able to talk to her!
Our lives as a whole should be a witness for our Lord and Saviour! Most of us, who are truly trying to live right, would probably say that we would never want to bring disgrace upon our earthly parents. We should feel the same way about our heavenly Father too! We will make mistakes, but when our hearts are in the right place we can immediately recover!
I praise the Lord for His mercy and grace and forgiveness! I pray that the whole world will get to know and understand . . . and accept it! I pray that I do not do anything that would cause people to have a wrong or negative impression of my Father, for He is so Wonderful and Holy!!!
